Stratton wins preliminary teen competition

Taylor Stratton, 15, of New London, was crowned Miss Title Town Outstanding Teen on Jan. 5 in Maryville. Her talent performance was a tap dance to “Bad.”

Stratton's platform was Out of the Darkness: Suicide Prevention. She will be sharing her information by visiting area schools to speak with teens about signs and symptoms of suicide. Stratton also will make appearances in the community and campaign for such causes as the Northeast Missouri Food Bank and the importance of early childhood literacy. She is a freshman at Palmyra High School.
