Weatherization Crew Specialist Shannon Utley of the not-for-profit North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) seals a window prior to installation Thursday, Jan. 10 as part of National Cut Your Energy Costs Day at a home on Union Street in Hannibal. The observance was designed to showcase ways people can save money on their utility bills. Ideas included caulking around windows, weather-stripping around doors, changing the furnace filter, cutting water usage and getting a programmable thermostat. NECAC offers other energy-saving tips and programs. Information is available by calling the agency’s weatherization program at 573-324-2251.
