Hannibal built a 10-point lead in the opening period (22-12). Preston Bennett and Adreke Brumbaugh, who would both finish in double figures in scoring, each netted eight points in the first stanza. Hannibal's cushion disappeared in the second quarter when West outscored the Pirates 15-5. In the pivotal third quarter, Dezi Jones led Hannibal's attack with nine points. Jones scored 20 of his 29 points in the second half when the Pirates outscored West 39-20. Bennett finished the game with 13 points while Brumbaugh added 10. Hannibal, 8-2, was scheduled to face Warrenton on Wednesday afternoon.
