The Pace Group is up for consideration to help the city of Hannibal search for a new city manager. A service agreement will be presented the Hannibal City Council when it meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at city hall.

The proposed contract requires the city pay $28,000, plus out-of-pocket expenses, for the Pace Group's services.

The city is in the preliminary phase of its search for a successor for Jeff LaGarce, Hannibal's current city manager, who announced on Dec. 20 that he would be leaving Hannibal in mid March 2019 after serving 12 years as its city manager. LaGarce said the Pace Group would provide a considerable amount of assistance.

"The Pace Group's approach not only markets this position nationwide, but identifies, seeks and attracts qualified candidates, evaluates and screens them, and includes background and other reference checks," he said, adding that it is also willing to assist with interviews of top candidates and aid in the selection process.

The Pace Group is no stranger to Northeast Missouri. It recently completed a search to fill the executive director position of the Northeast Missouri Economic Development Council.
