Clarksville United Methodist Church offered a free breakfast Saturday, Dec. 1 as a “thank you” to all who have contributed to the congregation’s Save Our Stained Glass Windows campaign. Homemade biscuits and gravy, bacon and fruit were offered. Pictured are Barb Meyer, left, and Heather Busch serve food. The tiny parish has raised more than $60,000 since the campaign began four years ago. The first three phases of renovations have been completed, and the final part will get under way in the next year. The sanctuary is surrounded by intricate colored panes that feature Christian symbols, the names of previous pastors and pioneer church members. Most of the money has come from church fundraisers. A grant last year from the Missouri United Methodist Foundation also helped. Because so many have been generous, the congregation decided to give a little back with one of the things it does best — fix food.
