Due to current water levels and more rain in the forecast, several routes are closed in Northeast Missouri due to flooding, said Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) officials. In addition, there are other roads that have the potential to be flooded. Please see below for a list of travel ways impacted at this time.
"We are monitoring all roads and getting prepared for roads that could be impacted further by the rising waters of the Mississippi River," said MoDOT Maintenance and Traffic Engineer Jennifer Hinson, P.E. "It is likely we will have to close Missouri Route 79 in Louisiana and south of Clarksville, as well as Route E in Saverton; we are also closely watching MO 79 south of Hannibal," she added.
