Each student earned a $10 “paycheck" at the conclusion of the free three-hour program

Eleven area students participated in HOMEBANK’s inaugural Kids Banking Program in Hannibal June 25-29. Aubrielle Krigbaum, Kylie Hodges, Zaria Reese, Zora Reese, Kyler Zaborowski, Dakota Bork, Tristan Moreyra, Emilia Bates, Mariah Mayfield, Parker Beroiza, and Ryan Bullard learned what it would be like to “be a banker for a day.”

Students learned how to open accounts, use online banking products, serve customers in the drive-up area and preserve important documents. They learned how money earns interest in a banking account and about the importance of confidentiality in the banking industry.

Each student earned a $10 “paycheck.” This is the first year for Kids’ Banking at the HOMEBANK branch at 3817 McMasters Avenue in Hannibal. The program for students entering the sixth grade lasts three hours and is free.
