The premise of the foundation, as a tax exempt organization, is to accept private gifts, hold and dispense those funds through annual school grants.
By now, most of our followers are familiar with our weekly raffle at the Dug Out Steakhouse. Each week there is a winning ticket drawn that results in a $100 drawing winner. BUT if the ticket number drawn corresponds with the envelope containing the ACE of Diamonds that ticket holder is the winner of the Jackpot which is now over $15,000. The last four winners of $100 have been Kenny Reynolds, Jason Dyer, Ashlyn Hendrix and Ed Talton. Worthy to note Talton is our first winner purchasing a ticket online.
This single fundraiser has enabled the School Foundation to present its first grant to Shannon Quinn at the elementary school for an “Artist in Residence” dulcimer workshop for fourth graders. Pretty amazing, and there is so much more the Foundation can do.
The premise of the foundation, as a tax exempt organization, is to accept private gifts, hold and dispense those funds through annual school grants. Other gifts can be made as “restricted donations” and can be used as scholarships and/or specified grants. Gifts are not limited to cash and can include life insurance, real estate, and personal wills. It is recommended that each donor seek professional advice and counsel with regard to any gift made to the Foundation. The board of directors welcome your questions and urge consideration of tax exempt gifts that will have lasting impact for many years to come.
Current Board of Directors: Jennifer Henderson, President; Shane Spalding. Vice President; Diana Hendrix, Treasurer; Lou Lemen, Secretary; Gary Yager; Mark Saunders; Jim Masters; Olivia Earlywine, Dwayne Williams.
