Reimbursement being sought for Bear Creek bridge

Jean McBride will be remaining at the helm of the Marion County Health Department. She was reappointed as the department's administrator by the county commission during its Monday meeting at the courthouse in Palmyra.

Noting a lack of objections to McBride's reappointment, the commissioners voted unanimously in her behalf.

After serving for four years as its health educator, in February 2009 McBride was named administrator of what was then known as the Marion County Health Department & Home Health Agency.

McBride replaced Joan Hynek, who resigned in September 2008 to become executive director of the Community Health Center in Hannibal.

McBride has over 30 years of experience in health care, including serving as administrator of two nursing homes, as a director of nursing and as a staff nurse. She is a1983 graduate of the Blessing School of Nursing in Quincy, Ill.
