Visiting Hannibal Free Public Library is about to get a little more “eggciting.” The Library Egg Hunt is on Saturday, March 24. Doors open at 9 a.m., and the egg hunt begins promptly at 9:15 a.m. This event is free and open to the public. All children and babies are welcome to attend. Those aged 3 and under will have their own area to search located in the Library’s Children’s Room. Participants might find candy, stickers, and some larger prizes inside their eggs.
“We are taking over the entire building for this 'eggcellent' event. That means three floors covered in over 2,000 eggs.” Assistant Director Caitlin Greathouse said. “It is our hope that from these special events, children in the community will come to see the library as a fun place to be as well as a useful resource. We ask that children be accompanied with an adult, and we hope that the kids are as 'eggcited' as we are.
“Teens, do not think we have forgotten about you. A special teen egg hunt will take place on Monday, March 26, at the library’s weekly Teen Night. This event takes place at 6 p.m., and the eggs will be hidden in 'eggstra' tricky places.”
On Saturday, March 24, the library opens at 9 a.m. for egg-hunting only. Regular library services are available starting at 10 a.m., as usual. Read & Glue on Saturday, March 24, is cancelled to encourage earlier attendance at the Library Egg Hunt.
