Quincy Medical Group (QMG) has both pediatric and adult occupational therapy. Occupational therapy helps people across the lifespan participate in the things they need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities.

Lynnae Glascock, Pediatric Occupational Therapist at QMG, says for children, early intervention is key.

“The earlier a child receives services, the better they will do,” she said. “These skills are setting the foundation for their future.”

Occupational therapy services focus on enhancing participation in and performance of activities of daily living (e.g., feeding, dressing), instrumental activities of daily living (e.g., community mobility, safety procedures), education, work, leisure, play, and social participation.

For adults, occupational therapy can assist with various ages and life stages. Occupational therapy evaluation and intervention services can also help prevent secondary disability by helping remove or modify environmental barriers to improve, sustain, or restore activities of daily living.
