In advance of Tuesday’s scheduled opening of the new Warren Barrett bridge in Hannibal, Street Department personnel were on hand to perform some final tasks on Monday morning.

A small amount of asphalt was hauled in to use as fill in low areas on the shoulders at the east and west ends of the structure.

After the asphalting was completed the Street Department workers planned to break out the striping machine in order to mark the bridge.

Work at the site by the project’s contractor, Bleigh Construction, essentially wrapped up last week. The bridge finished 41 days ahead of schedule.

A ribbon cutting is scheduled at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 25.
