The Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum has announced the 10 finalists for the 2017-2018 Tom and Becky Program. Melissa Cummins, Tom and Becky coordinator, released the list of finalists, who were selected after the second round of judging.
The official Tom and Becky will be announced at noon on the fourth of July in Central Park. Both the official Tom and Becky and the eight additional finalists will all represent Hannibal at numerous events for the following year.
The semi-finalists were announced after Hannibal area seventh graders presented speeches before a panel of judges comprised of area teachers, community leaders, former Tom and Becky ambassadors and the current Tom and Becky at the Hannibal Middle School on Friday, March 10.

This group prepared for the next stage of judging, consisting of a test over Mark Twain and Hannibal and 10-minute interviews before a panel of judges consisting of business owners, community leaders, and individuals familiar with the tourism industry and the Tom and Becky Program.
The interviews were on April 21 at the Mark Twain Museum Gallery, prior to selection of the finalists.
