With Hannibal High School’s graduation scheduled Thursday night, Porter Stadium was being prepared Wednesday for the commencement program.

According to Allen Gottman, director of maintenance, work began at the stadium around 6:30 a.m.

Normally the setup takes around three hours, reports Gottman, but because of advance prep work on Tuesday, the work was completed by shortly after 9 a.m.

In the past, Korf Gym was also prepared for graduation in the event of rain. Gottman says that is no longer the case unless the forecast calls for a good chance of rain.

Thursday night’s forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of showers after 1 a.m.
