With dry weather forecast for the rest of Thursday, Danny Seabaugh, caretaker of Holy Family Cemetery in Hannibal, took the opportunity to break out a paint brush and work on one of the cemetery’s gates.
Seabaugh said he has been told it’s been 15 years since the gates were last painted.
It was pretty rusty,” he said.
With five sets of gates the job will take some time.
I’ve got the main coat on all of them,” he said. “I’ll probably have to come back two or three different times to get it all.”
Seabaugh believes his work is appreciated.
I think everybody likes stuff to look better,” he said.
