By now you've surely watched (or at least heard of) Netflix's latest big hit, "Bird Box," a horror film starring Sandra Bullock, which has had the internet buzzing since Christmas. According to the streaming service, about 45 million Netflix accounts worldwide watched the movie between Dec. 21 and Dec. 27.

Now fans are taking their love of the film to the next level with the "Bird Box Challenge."

The challenge mainly involves people blindfolding themselves and walking around outside, similar to the way the characters in the film have to wear blindfolds outdoors to avoid being killed by unknown monsters that force those who look at them to commit suicide.

Some of the challenges seem harmless, like Michael Strahan giving it a go on Good Morning America:

However, Netflix is still warning people to be careful if they take part in the challenge. After all, walking around blindfolded comes with obvious risks.

[gh:blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"][gh:p lang="en" dir="ltr"]Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.[/gh:p]— Netflix US (@netflix)[gh:a href="https://twitter.com/netflix/status/1080525103593512962?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw"]January 2, 2019[/gh:a][/gh:blockquote][gh:script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"][/gh:script]
