Montana throws shutout for Monroe City

Montana Masterson pitched a shutout for the Monroe City softball team as it defeated Paris 19-0 on the road on Monday.

Masterson pitched five innings with eight strikeouts, while only allowing two hits in her shutout win.

The Panthers combined for 16 hits and five walks to score 19 runs, while being aided by seven errors by Paris. Riley Quinn had four hits and three RBIs.

Monroe City moves to a 5-2 record after their win on Monday. The Panthers hosted Hannibal on Tuesday and will travel to South Shelby on Thursday.

Palmyra softball holds Moberly scoreless

The Palmyra Panthers softball team easily defeated Moberly 15-0 in four innings at home on Monday.

“Great night all around,” Palmyra head coach Alexis Van Nostrand said. “We had base runners on and executed when they were in scoring position.”

Palmyra's Jackson Juette hit two home runs in the contest and pitcher Lydia Althoff earned the win after pitching four scoreless innings.

Palmyra moves to a 4-2 record for the season. The Panthers hosted Clark County on Tuesday night and will host Bowling Green on Thursday night.
