BOWLING GREEN, Mo. | Senior Emma Clarkson had three hits for Mark Twain in Thursday's 9-4 loss to Bowling Green on the road.

“Our bats are finally starting to wake up and we're driving the ball for extra bases,” said Mark Twain head coach Ross Parcel. “Emma Clarkson and Autumn Arndt have been hitting the cover off the ball. (Pitcher) Molly Hill has battled in the circle every night, keeping us within striking distance.”

Mark Twain started the game off with the lead after junior Autumn Arndt hit a solo home run to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

Bowling Green would tie the game up in the second inning and take a 5-1 lead in the third. Mark Twain junior Kenleigh Epperson would come through with a two-RBI double in the bottom half of the third inning to bring the Tigers within two runs.

In the seventh inning, Mark Twain sophomore Audrey Ross hit a triple to drive in Clarkson, which was the final run for the Tigers.

Mark Twain is now 0-5 for the season. They host Silex on Tuesday in the Tigers next game.
