Shooting victim dies, murder charge filed

HANNIBAL | The victim of a June 4 shooting in Hannibal, Billy R. Williams, 45, of Hannibal, has died, and a warrant has been issued for a murder suspect.

The Hannibal Police Department reported Williams has been declared deceased related to this shooting incident.

The HPD is asking for help in locating of the suspect, Corey L. Cobb, 26, of Hannibal.

A warrant has been issued in Marion County 10th Judicial Circuit Court, charging Cobb with second degree murder, with bond set at $1 million, cash only.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call the Hannibal Police Department at 573-221-0987 or by going to the Hannibal Police Departments website, www.hannibalpd.com.

The police reported officers were called to the 2100 block of Gordon Street to investigate a shooting at approximately 9:17 p.m. June 4. Officers located a 45-year-old man who had been shot, and the victim was transported by the Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital.
