Palmyra man dies in traffic crash

PALMYRA, Mo. - Jamar O. White, 42, of Palmyra, Mo., died at the scene of a one-vehicle accident at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, near Palmyra, and two passengers were injured.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, White was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado south on U.S. 61 two miles south of Palmyra.

Officers said he was changing lanes and the truck went off the left side of the highway and overturned, ejecting both passengers before stopping on its top in the median.

White was pronounced dead at 7:20 p.m. by Coroner Rick Jones.

Michelle A. White, 35, of Palmyra, suffered serious injuries and went by Marion County ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Carrie M. Haskins, 43, of Palmyra, had moderate injuries. She went by Ralls County ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

Assisting at the scene were the Marion County and Ralls County Sheriff's Departments and Palmyra Fire Department.
