Bowling Green woman injured in rear-end crash

VANDALIA, Mo. – Joyce A. McPike, 51, of Bowling Green, Mo., was flown to the University Hospital in Columbia, Mo., for treatment of serious injuries suffered in a traffic accident at 4:16 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, in rural Ralls County, Mo.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Dustin M. Gibson, 39, of Vandalia, Mo., was driving a 2006 Peterbilt on U.S. 54 one mile east of Vandalia and had slowed to make a turn.

His truck was rear-ended by a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by McPike. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt. Gibson did not report injuries.

Assisting at the scene were the Ralls County Sheriff's Department, Vandalia Police and Fire Departments and Van Far Ambulance crew.
