Video footage at the Sonic Restaurant on McMasters Ave. caught the snowman swindlers in action on Thursday, Dec. 10, around 1:15 a.m.

December is typically the time of the year for charitable giving and spreading joy, but that was apparently lost on two people caught on a surveillance camera taking a large inflatable snowman from a Hannibal business.

Video footage at the Sonic Restaurant on McMasters Ave. caught the snowman swindlers in action on Thursday, Dec. 10, around 1:15 a.m.

According to the footage, a white male and white female are seen deflating the filled Frosty near the drive-through menu, then leaving the area in a dark colored, four-door car.

The male suspect was wearing a stocking cap and athletic shorts while the female suspect appeared to be wearing a dark sweatshirt.

The Hannibal Police Department is asking for help identifying the two suspects.

If anyone can identify one or both of these subjects, they are asked to call the Hannibal Police Department and select the Crimes Tip Line or visit our website at hannibalpd.com to leave an anonymous crime tip.
