Members of the General Mills United Way Campaign team present Frank Di Tillo, Director of the United Way of the Mark Twain Area, with a check for $216,734. The check represents the General Mills employee support of the United Way and the General Mills Foundation corporate match in support of their employees. Front row, from left, Jennifer Puterbaugh, Frank Di Tillo and Debbie Buchanan. Back row, from left, Greg Ruhl and John Rethorn. Di Tillo praised the strong support the United Way receives from General Mills employees and from the General Mills Foundation. “This generous donation represents only a part of the community support General Mills brings to the United Way of the Mark Twain Area and to the communities of Northeast Missouri.” The General Mills staff members pictured are some of the folks responsible for the work, commitment and enthusiasm the General Mills’ plant needed to run such an impactful campaign. The campaign included employee presentations, donation incentives, golf tournaments, a silent auction and Plant Manager Becky Crane working your job for a day. This General Mills donation helps to push the United Way Campaign thermometer to over 80% of the overall campaign goal of $565,000.00. The presentation from General Mills is well-timed as the United Way continues to work towards its campaign goal. Reaching the campaign goal will allow the United Way to fully fund its allocation commitments. Every campaign dollar is allocated to assist one of the agencies serving the clients of Northeast Missouri. “Since 1939 the United Way of the Mark Twain Area has taken a leading role in Northeast Missouri, not just in fundraising, but also in identifying needs, resources and providing solutions. We are 'Getting Up, Getting United, the United Way,'” 2015 Campaign Chairman Andy Dorian said.
