Daniel was born Aug. 20, 1993, in Hannibal, Mo., to Philip Stephen Whiston and Anna M. Medley Whiston.

He was engaged to Amber D. Gregory. She survives.

He is also survived by his parents of Hannibal; son, Kaden Michael Whiston of the home; one sister, Angela Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; and future-in-laws, Michael Gregory (Tina) of Hannibal.

He graduated from Hannibal High School in 2012.

Daniel was a wonderful father who loved his son whole-heartedly. In fact, spending time with his family was his favorite thing to do. He loved to go to baseball games and all things baseball. He was a huge Cardinals fan. He also loved to golf and really enjoyed all sports.  Daniel loved to play video games and did so on a daily basis. He loved country music and really enjoyed Hank Williams Jr. He spent much time with his Dad and Mom and was equally close to both. His future-in-laws were also a huge part of his life. Daniel enjoyed watching the weather and loved to sit and watch the wind blow.

For those who knew him and especially by his family he will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, for his caring heart, for his enjoyment of life, and as an irreplaceable friend, fiancé, brother, father and son.

He was a Christian by faith and also believed in reincarnation.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Niffen, Josh Niffen, Alex Stanbridge, Skylar Stanbridge, Darin Sehlke, Michael Sehlke, Michael Gregory and Joey Berry.

Memorials contributions may be made to the Kaden Michael Whiston education fund, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
