A Ralls County man is recovering after law enforcement rescued him from a remote part of the county Wednesday, Oct. 28.

A Ralls County man is recovering after law enforcement rescued him from a remote part of the county Wednesday, Oct. 28.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol deployed a short-haul rescue helicopter to extract the 38-year-old Ralls County man from a heavily-wooded area near Spencer Creek in the southeast part of the county west of Frankford.

The man had reportedly been missing since Sunday, Oct. 25. Survival Flight took him to University Hospital in Columbia, Mo., for treatment. According to the MSHP, he suffered from effects of exposure to the elements.

The Ralls County Sheriff's Department and New London Police Department requested the aid the MSHP around 1 p.m. Oct. 28. The MSHP dispatched a 90MP helicopter to help search for the man. The helicopter located the missing man around 3 p.m., when emergency rescue actions were undertaken with the 93MP rescue helicopter.

The identity of the man has not been released. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance also have not been released.
