Hannibal Police Department personnel were busy Tuesday morning preparing the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center for Saturday’s Halloween party.

The Admiral Coontz Recreation Center is closed to the public this week, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a busy place. The gymnasium is being transformed into the site of the Hannibal Police Department’s 35th annual Halloween party, which is scheduled to take place Saturday, Oct. 31, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

On Tuesday morning blow-up creatures were being aired up to make sure they are still in working condition.

“There will be some new decorations. There’s going to be some more big visual stuff this year,” said Cpl. Jonathan Borgmeyer of HPD. “There will be games, crafts and all those good things for the kids like we always have.”
