A big hurdle remains for any potential buyer of Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana.

A big hurdle remains for any potential buyer of Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana.

County commissioners say they would want voters to consider repealing a tax that helps fund the facility before a deal is made.

The quarter-cent tax generates more than $700,000 a year, and also provides funding for the ambulance district.

Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy joined the Mercy system in March.

Pike County Memorial has been providing medical services since 1928.
