John H. “Jack” Knickerbocker, 85, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 4:53 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at his home.

John H. “Jack” Knickerbocker, 85, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 4:53 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at his home.

Friends and family are invited to Jack's life celebration at a memorial visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, Mo. There will be no funeral services.

The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Mr. Knickerbocker was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Marion County, Mo., to John M. and Blanche Michael Knickerbocker.

He was married to Sharon Herring on May 6, 1966, in Hannibal, Mo. She survives.

Other survivors include three children, Linda Viar of Hannibal, Mo., Kevin L. Knickerbocker (Amy) of Hannibal, Mo., Mark Knickerbocker of Hannibal, Mo.; one sister, Rosemary Hymers of Hannibal, Mo.; and three granddaughters, Myranda, Sarah and Hannah Knickerbocker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elsie Reed.

Mr. Knickerbocker was a 1948 graduate of Hannibal High School. He was in the Missouri National Guard from 1947 to 1956. Jack worked as an electrician for 18 years, retiring from American Cyanamid. Jack liked hunting and fishing and enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved his family and was a wonderful provider for them — especially his wife, whom he made sure was always taken care of. Jack liked to visit Colorado, but would rather spend his time at home with his family and his three granddaughters. Jack and Sharon enjoyed riding their motorcycle and rode over 100,000 miles together. He was a Baptist by faith.
