Three Board of Public Works personnel were working on Paris Avenue in Hannibal on Wednesday morning.

A three-man crew from the Hannibal Board of Public Works was working Wednesday morning on Paris Avenue. The early morning work was taking place between Grand Avenue and Hazel Street.

A jackhammer was being used to break up the pavement around a manhole.

According to Heath Hall, director of operations for the BPW, the crew was in the process of raising the second of three manholes on Paris. The project is in advance of a planned resurfacing project by the Street Department.

Hall anticipated that the BPW’s work in the area would either be wrapped up by Wednesday afternoon or Thursday.
