Missouri has adjusted the repair schedule for the Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana after area residents voiced concerns.

Closures will remain in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 19-21 and Oct. 26-28. The bridge will be shut down to traffic two hours later on Mondays and re-open two hours earlier on Thursdays.

However, during the third week starting Nov. 2, crews will work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

The changes were made after businesses, farmers and others shared concerns last week with the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Detour signs already are in place. Engineers say the revised plan may be altered once work begins.

More than 1,500 original rivets on the underside of the 87-year-old bridge are rusting and must be replaced. The project is expected to take at least six weeks.
