Hannibal Street Department personnel were cleaning the sidewalk and street areas along North Main Street Tuesday morning.

Some post-project cleanup work was underway on Tuesday morning along North Main Street in downtown Hannibal.

Street Department personnel were using a water spray to clean portions of the sidewalk and street. The focus of the efforts was near where the new “finger” signs were installed along North Main Street last week.

The process of cutting the sidewalk to accommodate the poles on which the “finger” signs were attached left behind a fine residue on the fround. The pressurized water was being used to wash away the powdery dust.

The work was taking place in advance of this weekend’s Folklife Festival on North Main.
