Ruth Elizabeth Sexton, 98, of Palmyra, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

Ruth Elizabeth Sexton, 98, of Palmyra, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 28, 1916, in Marion County, Mo., to Daniel and Nellie Himmell Begley.

Ruth married Bert E. Sexton Feb. 12, 1937, in Palmyra, Mo.

Ruth is survived by her son, James E. (Mary) Sexton of Victorville, Calif.; sisters, Jean Harrison of Palmyra and Elsie Cates of Winterset, Iowa.; grandchildren, Cari Hanson of San Diego, Calif.; Melissa Sexton of Glendale, Calif.; Jason Sexton of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; Gregory Sexton of Duarte, Calif.; and Malia Sexton of Fresno, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bert; sons Bert Jr. and Philip; brothers, Harvey, Harold and Ray Begley; and sisters, Helen Miller, Marjorie Wilson, Mildred Hoenes, Rosalie Boschert and Mary McPike.

Graveside funeral services and interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, Mo., at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015. Pastor Mark McPike will officiate.

Ruth's family requests donations, in lieu of flowers, be made in her name to the Wolfner Talking Book & Braille Library, 600 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
