Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Corum Lake, 75, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Corum Lake, 75, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Elizabeth was born Dec. 25, 1939, in Louisiana, Mo., to William Henry and Margaret Emma Corum Swain.

Elizabeth was married to James Leroy Lake Nov. 10, 1954, in Hannibal, Mo. He survives of the home. Survivors include children, Connie Eastburn of Palmyra; Jimmy Lake of Palmyra; Denise (Dominick) Albanese of Hannibal; and Terry (Lisa) Lake of Palmyra; siblings, Charles Corum of Palmyra; George (Barb) Corum of Hannibal; Frank (Wilma) Corum of Philadelphia;  Kenny (Kathy) Corum of Palmyra; grandchildren, Julie (James) Redd, Justin (Mary) Eastburn, Heather (Travis) Rice, Nick (Amanda) Curless, Stephanie (Gil) Verser, Anthony Curless, Brittany Huff, Amy Lake, Troy Lake, Madison Lake and Megan Lake, and a very special friend, Deborah Whitthouse.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, J.T. Eastburn; sisters, Georgia Garner and Eva Kast; and an infant son, Anthony Wayne Lake.

She attended the rural Providence School at Withers Mill. Mrs. Lake later became the owner and operator of the Country Village Diner in Palmyra, Mo.

Betty's love of food showed and she adored catering banquets, listening to music and doing puzzles, enjoyed quilting and sewing, loved to garden and canning, appreciated fishing and hosting fish frys, but most of all cherished spending time with all of her children and grandchildren. She was a Baptist by faith.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Rev. Dewayne Larenson will officiate. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, Mo. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or National Diabetes Association.

Pallbearers will be Deborah Hothouse, Justin Eastburn, Travis Rice, Tyler Reed, Troy Lake, Anthony Curlers and Nick Curlers.
