The winter Hannibal Parks & Recreation pickleball league begins Nov. 10.

Games will be played Tuesdays through Dec. 15 at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.

Pickleball is a sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It is played on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net with a paddle and a plastic ball similar to a wiffle ball.

The cost of the doubles league is $35 per team. Teams will play a total of three games or 45 minutes.

Teams must be registered by Nov. 3.

Registration is available at the Hannibal Parks & Recreation office at City Hall, 320 Broadway. More information is available by calling 221-0154.

Pickleball equipment and courts are available for play at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center, which is open 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. There are also two outdoor courts at Norfolk & Southern Multisports Complex.
