Those interested in participating in HLGU’s Trojan Trek are encouraged to register for the event now before the price increases on Saturday, Oct. 17. Registration is available online at hlg.edu/trojantrek. All proceeds from the event are used by the HLGU Missions Department to fund local community engagement and outreach.

The registration fee for the event is $30 for adult racers, $25 for HLGU students, faculty, staff, and alumni, $10 for the Kids Fun Run, and $75 for families up to five. All 5k and 10k racers registered by October 17 are guaranteed an event shirt. Registration fee increases to $40 on October 18 and registrants will not receive a shirt.

Formerly known as the Trojan Turkey Trek, the race has been renamed to better brand the event to HLGU and its mascot. Many exciting new things are happening to this event but its focus remains the same, to raise money for HLGU missions and local community outreach.

This year, a 10k trail run option has been added to the preexisting 5k trail run/walk and kids’ fun run. The competitive 10k and 5k races will be chip timed by Fleet Feet Sports Timing.

The TTT’s iconic route will still be used. To those familiar with the Hannibal Cannibal, this race is not the Cannibal, but it will introduce participants to a few of Hannibal’s hills. The course weaves through campus and the beautiful HLGU Nature Trail where runners will catch a glimpse of an 1800s spring house and a natural waterfall.

Awards and prizes, generously sponsored by Hannibal Regional Healthcare Systems, will be presented immediately following the trail run. Medals will go to the top two finishers in each age group for both the 5k and 10k races and plaques will be given to the overall male and female, overall alumni male and female, and overall masters (40+) male and female for both races.
