Hannibal Street Department personnel were installing poles along North Main Street Wednesday morning. Business “finger” signs will be attached.

The installation of informational signs along North Main Street was progressing on Wednesday morning. A two-man team of Hannibal Street Department workers were putting up the poles onto which “finger” signs will be attached.

As of 9:30 a.m. three of the poles had been installed with four to go.

Reportedly the black poles, which match the light poles that are currently in place, will all be installed before any of the finger signs are attached. It was anticipated that the informational “fingers” would also be attached today.

Brian Chaplin, Public Works superintendent, said last month that his goal was to have all the new signs in place by the upcoming Folklife Festival.
