Area youth participated in the 2015 4-H Junior Camp program from June 10, 2015 to June 13, 2015, at Camp Cedar Crest near Mexico, Mo.

The theme for the camp was “Snacks,” with the groups being given names like Cookies, Chips, Candy and Ice Cream. Campers ages eight to 11 from Pike, Ralls, Marion, Clark and Audrain counties all took part in the camp.

Counselors for the camp were: Elizabeth Corey and Marissa Todd, Marion County; Jessica Barnes, Lance Dixon, Katy Horner, Kayli LaBrash, and Reed Niemeyer, Pike County; Cody James, Ralls County;  Morgan Duenke, Grace Kerr, Ana Minnick, and Delanie Windmann, Audrain County. 

While at camp, campers took part in various workshops all designed and presented by the counselors. Workshops included canoeing, great outdoors, crafts, mapping your way, campfire cookery, minute to win it, electricity, water filtration and snazzy science. Campers learned social, cooperation, teambuilding, and leadership skills through these workshops. The campers also enjoyed swimming and water games.
