B.G. and Shirley Brown celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 18, 2015. They were honored at a family dinner hosted by their children.

Shirley Glascock and Beverly G. Brown were united in marriage on June 18, 1950, at the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Hannibal. Dr. A.E. Prince officiated.

Matron of honor was Vernace Ihrig, sister of the bride. Best man was Robert Herring, cousin of the groom.

Shirley is the daughter of the late Edna Glascock Covey and the late Phillip Glascock. B.G. is the son of the late Lucille and Archie Brown.

They are the parents of three children, Conaleen (Joe) Essig, Kathy (Bob) Rickert and Kent (Kathy) Brown.

They have 11 grandchildren, Jamey (Stacy) Essig, Jason (Erica) Essig, Dorian Morrison, and Ron, Jane (Justin) Strickland, Kelly (Kenny) Whitfield, Aaron (Marlene) Groves, Danielle (Jake) Hudson, Phillip (Amber) Brown, Brian and Chase Rickert, and R.J. Sharpe; and 16 great-grandchildren.

B.G. and Shirley are retired farmers of rural Hannibal. They are active members of Oakwood Christian Church.
