Everyone was winner at Saturday’s Color in Motion for Kids in Motion.

Kids in Motion raised about $12,000 in the 5K fun run/walk in downtown Hannibal.

Ayden Nichols and Whitney Bichsel were the first male and female to cross the finish line.

Hannibal Regional Hospital earned the team competition with more than 70 people registered. Kids in Motion kids were in charge of throwing the color and many other volunteers helped make sure everyone was safe. Hannibal Parks & Recreation helped coordinate the event. Emily Trevathan of Twisted Juniper Yoga led a stretching session.

There were lots of people participating as part of a team or family, even strollers and dogs got into the action.

Kids In Motion (KIM), which is part of Douglass Community Services, is a pre-employment/ service-learning program for at-risk youth between the ages of 12-15. The mission is to teach teens and pre-teens to value work, their community and their future.
