Hannibal Fire Department truck drivers were testing their driving skills Tuesday morning on South Main Street.

Truck drivers with the Hannibal Fire Department will be testing their skills this week.

“This week we’re going to be having all three of our shifts do the driver’s course as prescribed by the National Fire Protection Association,” said John Baker, assistant fire chief and training officer. “We used to do this as part of the driver’s exam. It’s a requirement. It’s a good tune-up for all our drivers.”

Cones were used to provide truck operators with an assortment of driving challenges.

Baker noted that the cones, secured through a grant by the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety, are on loan from the Marion County Ambulance District.
