Roger “Waldo” Walton, 62 of New London, Mo., passed away at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at his home.

Roger “Waldo” Walton, 62 of New London, Mo., passed away at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, Mo. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Private burial will be at Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Roger was born on Sept. 16, 1952, in Hannibal, Mo., to Everett and Mildred Ragland Walton.

He was married to Chris Stombough on April 2, 1983. She preceded him in death on Jan. 21, 1996.

Roger later married Sandra Link on Nov. 25, 1998, in Hannibal, MO. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Krista Schindler (Chris) of Camdenton, Mo.; one son, Craig Wombles of New London, Mo.; one grandson, Wyatt Schindler; a niece, Cheryl Sims (Jeff); his father and mother in law, Clyde and Lee Link; two brothers in law, Steve Link (Jenny) and Stuart Link (Christy); and Special friends, Terry and Jeannie Oltman, Tracy and Marolyn Scott and George and Teresa Matyas.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Barden.

Roger was a member of I.B.E.W. Local #350. He was an avid sportsman and bass fisherman. Roger was also a talented athlete excelling throughout his school years in football and baseball. In adulthood Roger continued his athletic success as a gifted fast pitch softball player and golfer. And although Roger was a tremendous athlete that garnered many accolades for his talents, he was proudest being a husband, father, and Papa “Waldo”.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Oltman, Tracy Scott, Steve Link, Stuart Link, Craig Elsner, and Chris Schindler.
