Maurice L. "Sonny" Capp, 84, of Hannibal, died at 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Willow Care Center in Hannibal.

Maurice L. "Sonny" Capp, 84, of Hannibal, died at 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Willow Care Center in Hannibal. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.  Father Mike Quinn and Rev. Steve Goughnour will officiate.  Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in  Hannibal.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Mr. Capp was born March 4, 1930, in Hannibal to Maurice G. and Edna Riley Capp.

He was married to Mary Margaret "Marge" White on January 10, 1956, in Hannibal. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Bruce Capp (Tonia) of Hannibal, and Pamela Capp of St. Louis, Mo.; his grandson, Benjamin Capp of Chesterfield, Mo.; and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Donald Capp.

He worked for the Hannibal Board of Public Works for 37 1/2 years, retiring in 1993 as a supervisor. He graduated in 1947 from Hannibal High School and attended both Arkansas State University and Hannibal-LaGrange University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55, all in Hannibal. He was also a Mason. He was an enthusiastic fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, beginning in his childhood.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Great River Honor Flight or the Community Loving Care Hospice, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
