Take a Tour… right in your own backyard!
One of our targeted focuses for Tourism is the group travel market. In order to make it easier for large groups to visit Kirksville, we create sample itineraries to distribute with suggested ideas.
We have decided to share those suggestions with our readers here, so that you can see the hidden gems we show our guests! In many cases, our office works directly with businesses to set up tours. If you and a group of friends are interested in a tour, but don’t know where to start- give us a call. We are happy to help!
Eat your way through some of Kirksville’s favorite food institutions and indulge your palate with flavors from near and far!
Wake up to a home-cooked breakfast courtesy of the hosts at Cottage Grove Bed and Breakfast or Brashear House Bed and Breakfast. Visit the Kirksville Kiwanis Club Farmer’s Market downtown and swing by Edna Campbell’s to browse their gourmet food items!
Take a short drive and tour the Possibility Alliance Farm and Sanctuary or Singing Prairie Farms to learn about sustainability and at-home food production. Grab a bite to eat for lunch at Wooden Nickel Restaurant and enjoy eggplant parmesan or KC barbeque!
Try dinner downtown at Bonzai Steak and Sushi House or The Greek Corner Gyros for food with international flair. Wind down your evening at one of our local wineries, West Winery at Jackson Stables or Jacob’s Vineyard and Winery. Buy a bottle and enjoy live music and local talent!
