The city of Hannibal’s yard waste lot, located at S. Seventh Street and Warren Barrett Drive, will reopen Monday, April 5. This service is provided for Hannibal residents.
The lot will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays. The lot will be closed on Fridays and Sundays.
Persons wishing to dispose of their yard waste on weekdays must stop in the street department’s front office to pre-register every time they use the lot. This is being done to allow the street department to keep an inventory of the yard waste coming in. A lot attendant will be on hand at the lot on Saturday mornings to collect the information. Proof of Hannibal residency will be required.
Commercial waste or yard waste from persons hired to clean private property will not be accepted.
Hannibal residents may bring yard waste that includes leaves, grass clippings, brush, limbs, etc. Limbs must be no longer than 6 feet in length and 10 inches in diameter.
Persons hauling their yard waste in bags are asked to take the empty bags with them. No trash should be left at the site.
