Five residents of Avon, Ill., suffered minor injuries in a collision at 9:38 a.m. Saturday, March 27, on U.S. 24 in West Quincy. All five were using safety devices. They went to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Macon, the collision occurred when Randy J. Russell, 44, of Quincy, was driving a southbound 1996 GMC pickup truck and attempted to cross the westbound lanes of U.S. 24, driving into the path of a westbound 1997 Jeep Cherokee driven by Crystal I. Eddington, 30, of Avon.
Both vehicles stopped off the highway. Russell was not injured.
Also injured in the Eddington vehicle were her daughters, Courtney L. Eddington, 3, Halie N. Eddington, 6, and Malea M. Eddington, 9; and also James D. Peacock, 39.
