Lee F. Kaplan, 86, of Hannibal, died at 10:19 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the Luther Manor Retirement & Nursing Center in Hannibal.


Lee F. Kaplan, 86, of Hannibal, died at 10:19 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the Luther Manor Retirement & Nursing Center in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 29, at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Michael Stoerger of St. John’s Lutheran Church will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the Grand View Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kaplan was born on Feb. 8, 1924, in Hannibal, the daughter of Phillip and Irene Rodgers Scheiner. She married Leon Kaplan and he preceded her in death.  
She is survived by a nephew, Claude (Carole) Scheiner Jr. of Merced, Calif.; and seven cousins, David Jurgens, Chuck Jurgens, Merrilyn Jurgens, Pat Jennings, Rodger Horton Jr., Wilma Webb and Jimmy Webb.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Claude Scheiner.
Mrs. Kaplan was a barber by trade, but her life was her band, “The Lee Frances Trio”, in which she played the bass fiddle and sang. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hannibal. She moved back to Hannibal after several years in Chicago and Phoenix.
