For the third day in a row the Mississippi River continued its downward trend in Hannibal.
As of noon Friday, the river stage was 19.77 feet in America’s Hometown, which is a 24-hour drop of 0.14 of a foot.
The decline is also being seen in Saverton (19.09 feet, down 0.17 of a foot), Louisiana (18.97 feet, down 0.07 of a foot) and Clarksville (29.43 feet, down 0.09 of a foot).
After cresting at 20.12 feet early in the week, the river in Hannibal is forecast to slip to around 18.5 feet by next weekend.
