Four people were left with minor injuries following a traffic accident Sunday afternoon in Lewis County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 3:58 p.m. Sunday on Missouri 16, one-quarter mile east of Monticello. A 2002 Ford Ranger, driven by 17-year-old Nicole Gorrell of Canton, was eastbound when it reportedly crossed the center line. In an effort to miss the Ranger, a westbound 2002 Chevrolet Blazer driven by 59-year-old Diana Couch of LaBelle also crossed the center line. The vehicles, however, still collided.
Couch reported she would seek her own medical treatment as needed. Gorrell and her two passengers, 7-year-old Hunter Neuhaus and 6-year-old Pamela Neuhaus, both of Canton, were transported by Lewis County EMS to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. All but Pamela Neuhaus were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident.
