Nandini Mazumder and Austin David Mobley, of New Delhi, India were united in marriage Dec. 28, 2015, in Kolkata, India. The Bengali wedding ceremony (biye) took place on a floatel on the Hooghly River, which is a distributary of the Ganges River.
Nandini is the daughter of Mala Mazumder and Ratan Majumder of Kolkata, India and is a graduate of G.D. Birla Centre for Education. She graduated from Lady Brabourne College, University of Calcutta, with a degree in Sociology and obtained her master's at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Sociology. Austin is the son of Sherre and David Mobley of New London, and is a graduate of Hannibal High School. Austin graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., with a degree in Political Science.
Nandini is a Program Officer for Sexual and Reproductive Health with HIV/AIDS Alliance, which works on health and human rights, in New Delhi, India. Austin is Programme Coordinator for The Kutumb Foundation, a non-profit which provides educational, arts and theatre, and athletic opportunities for underprivileged children in New Delhi, India.
The couple honeymooned at hill stations in the Himalayas, enjoying hikes through historic ruins and beautiful scenery. They are currently at home in New Delhi.
