For 12 years, I was honored to work with constituents and represent former U.S. Congressman Kenny Hulshof across Northeast Missouri. Being a native of the region, I’m aware of the high standards local constituents have of their legislators at all levels. That’s why I’m proudly recommending and endorsing Louis Riggs for State Representative in Missouri’s 5th District.
Louis’ career has been spent giving back to the region, serving on numerous community and civic boards and organizations to make even better the communities where we live and work. Just one example is his involvement with local, regional, and statewide organizations – including the Governor’s Rural Broadband Access working group and the Northeast Missouri Development Partnership/NW Round Table Broadband access group, which all helped to pass critical legislation in 2018 while assisting the Missouri Farm Bureau and our Rural Electric Co-Ops.
Louis’ work in our region as well as his career learning and understanding of the law gives him a unique ability to not just learn communities’ needs, but also advocate on their behalf and navigate the legislative process in Jefferson City. Often, new legislators need to spend much of their first terms learning how the process works. Louis has a distinct advantage in knowing and understanding the system and how to work with both fellow state and federal legislators, helping him hit the ground running. What’s more, he is uniquely positioned to understand how best to meet our state’s education needs, stemming from his decade of service as an educator.
Having helmed Congressman Hulshof’s office for all 12 of his years in office, I also understand the commitment that must be made to constituent service – both on the federal and state levels. Louis also strongly believes in this concept and is looking forward to providing outstanding constituent service to the people of the 5th District once elected. Louis’ values mirror those of Northeast Missouri – limited government, conservative values, support for the Second Amendment, and an unwavering commitment to pro-life values. He is the best candidate, not only in the Republican primary, but also in the general election this fall.
I wholeheartedly encourage my friends and neighbors in NEMO to pull a Republican ballot in the August primary and vote for Louis Riggs for State Representative.
